Okay, well I hope it's cool...if not do ya'll want to help me make it better? Come on over to my brand new blog historyofearthom.blogspot.com/ to read all about the first book in my upcoming fantasy series, The History of Earthom: A Chasm Between. I'll be posting the first 1/4 of the book free, chapter by chapter for your enjoyment and hopefully for your comment-critique. First three followers will receive a FREE paperback copy of the book once it is in print (hopeully June of 2013).
Here's the song from the series which my friend and partner, Joanna, will be making a music video of to help advertise the series and a short summary of the story to hopefully bait you into clicking the blog link.
“Raven-Starr,” said Sky-Nettle hesitantly, her ivory hand resting on his heaving shoulder. “King Ihsan and his men won’t be far ahead. Are you prepared to do what you must?”
Reinhold turned to look at his companion, her silky black hair falling over her bare shoulders, and he stroked her cheek with a calloused finger. “I don’t want to hurt Lamertine, Sky-Nettle. I wish he’d just give me the Map. There’s no reason for us to be fighting each other.”
“Dragoslav has poisoned his mind. Lamertine has permitted horrible things.” The faery’s lips trembled behind her inch long fangs and a shimmering tear wet her cheek. “Your brother is a danger to all of Earthom so long as he refuses to surrender.”
“I know.” As Reinhold spoke, his cloud-eyes swept over the wall of trees guarding Fey River from his empty gaze. He trembled against spring’s breeze and against the dread settling over his heart. Despite the chill, the sun wrestled through the leaves. Sky-Nettle kissed his bearded cheek, but he didn’t look at her.
He had been in the Chasm twice before – the first time he had saved Lamertine from death, the second Lamertine had disowned him. The memories of that first adventure in the Chasm flooded his mind. Lamertine’s stubbornness had led them out of Kaldorin Forest and Reinhold’s indecisiveness had caused them to be attacked by the Changers. And then, out of nowhere, Sky-Nettle had come to their aid.
Footsteps - A Song of Earthom
Like eager footsteps in the snow
Our own endeavors often go
Where once was beauty, now tis slain
And only battlegrounds remain.
[Chorus]
The Day is gone, the Day is gone
The Night has come to stay
The Day is gone, the Day is gone,
Night’s chased the light away.
In time of war there is no room
For roses and their fragrant blooms
For all the brothers and the lovers
There is no shelter and no cover
[Refrain]
From the shadow that is coming…
From the winter that is falling…
*Ahh, Ahh, Ahh*
[Chorus]
The Day is gone, the Day is gone
The Night has come to stay
The Day is gone, the Day is gone,
Night’s chased the light away.
One brother now the king of men
The other king of Faery kin
Like careless children’s hands
Playing with destiny’s sands
[Refrain]
Neither sees the shadow coming
Or the winter fast approaching…
*Ahh, Ahh, Ahh*
[Chorus]
The Day is gone, the Day is gone
The Night has come to stay
The Day is gone, the Day is gone,
Night’s chased the light away.
Now all tis left is footprints
Where they never should have been…
