Curious about what Rivershore Books is doing in the quieter times? Come here to find out. This week we are editing a writing book for IEW, as well as a non-fiction book about a young man's struggle with cancer, alcohol, and the loss of a friend. The difficult topics make it a rough read, but a worthwhile one. The non-fiction book, Spiritual Invented Creation, will be published under the Rivershore Books label once formatting (done by the author) and cover creation (done by me) are completed. I am also working on a website for a home theater company, www.hometheatermn.com. (The current website is not my work; the owners want it moved off that server.) In my spare time (which admittedly is limited this week), I'm editing and rewriting the sequel to Shrouded Jewels, which has officially been titled As Fairydust Settles. What would you love to see from Rivershore Books?

Thank you! This week we're checking the formatting of the autobiography, creating the cover, and preparing that for publication. The author added some sections (we asked him to), so we'll be reading through those as well. He was very thoughtful and put them in bold so they'll be easy for us to find. We also have two new books from IEW, half of last week's, and need to finish the website we started. This will all happen by Friday...right?

Rivershore Books is pleased to announce the publication of Spiritual Invented Creation, an autobiography by Don Richardson. The author is refreshingly honest about the struggles he's gone through, which include cancer, drinking, and the loss of a dear friend. The book also contains much of his poetry, written during these difficulties. Because of the content it is an emotional read, but worth it. You can purchase this short but powerful book on CreateSpace and Amazon: CreateSpaceAmazon

A short while ago, I was given an opportunity to proofread a novel, and I enjoyed it very much. Now, I am so excited to announce, it is available on Amazon ($10.95), and on the Kindle, Nook, and Smashwords ($3.99)! Annabeth's War was written by Jessica Greyson, and is a delightful, uplifting book. I found myself just reading through, wanting to see what happened next--before remembering I was supposed to be watching for grammar. Hehe! I recommend it for readers of all ages. Christmas present, anyone?? Isn't this cover simply stunning? It's a lovely representation of a novel worth reading! Here's something extra fun!Two of my favorite bloggers ( Jessica and Katherine Sophia) have teamed up with a book and bracelet giveaway. Click the picture for more info (and as a special treat, there's also an author interview)!

Rivershore Books is thrilled to announce the publication of our newest book, Purple Eyes by Shalight Saja. The author is an abuse survivor, and her poetry captures both the pain she experienced and the beauty of the healing she received. No matter your story, there is comfort in the fact that the feelings expressed in Purple Eyes are universal. "Purple Eyes is a collection of poetry written during a young woman's healing process after six years of abuse. It is a story of the early stages of her journey toward defining herself by who she wants to be rather than by what has happened to her." (Amazon description) This beautiful book of poetry is available for $8.99 in paperback and ebook formats, on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Smashwords: Paperback (Amazon)KindleNookSmashwords

We are delighted to share Rivershore's newest book, Memory Ghosts by Chelise Fry. "The battle between hero and villain is one most often fought within ourselves"
This is the first in Fry's History of Eyrthum fantasy series, and follows brothers Reinhold and Lamertyn as they learn the secrets and dangers of Eyrthum. The intensity of the details, depth of the content, beautiful wording, and realistic characters combine to make this a book that draws the reader in and keeps their interest to the end. We are eager to read book 2! Note: This book is meant for ages 16+, due to thematic elements. For a limited time, the paperback of this book will be available at the reduced price of $10.99 on Amazon and the Rivershore Books store! Be watching in the coming weeks for the ebook! The price of the paperback will revert to $12.99 when the ebook is released.

(Note: Memory Ghosts has temporarily been taken off sale as the author makes some changes to the text. I loved it as it was, and I'm sure it's only going to get better with this revision!) We have several new books out! I'll try to do this in the order they were published. Fighting for Life by Laura Michelle: An intensely beautiful book of poetry. The author has gone through several struggles, including health issues and abuse, and that is reflected in her poetry. Above all, she seeks to honor God...but she's not afraid to admit when she stumbles. It's beautifully honest. Liz's Lefse by Liz Onstad Ellertson: This happens to be written by my grandma, so I may be a little biased. It's an autobiography that follows her life as she grew up on a farm during the Great Depression, moved to the city in the 50s, and all of her travels (she's been to every state but Alaska, and has been to Europe and Jamaica). I'm in it near the end. There's also a lefse recipe in the back. And if you don't know what lefse is, look it up. It's amazing. As Fairydust Settles by Jansina: This is my own, so I won't say much about it, but it's the sequel to Shrouded Jewels and continues to follow Mical and Davey as they struggle with deception and more.GrandMa and the Miracles by Arthur Marinello: This is a wonderful hardcover book of poetry, and the third book the author has published (first to be published via Rivershore). I highly recommend you read this and both his first two books: Unlike the Vikings and Casta Diva. I haven't read the first two yet but plan to. His writing style is fluid, humorous, insightful, touching, and genuine. Beautiful.Life is Crumbly by Jansina: Another of my own - this is quite different from my past books. It's meant to be humorous but may be seen as morbid, and it's about the various ways cookies can die. (I did warn you.) Not for children, but I've been told it's cute. Illustrations by the talented Mary MacArthur! The Lands by K. Newman: This is a delightful fantasy novel about a family's journey to a new world and their struggles as they are forced to choose between staying together or following their hearts. It's the first in a series, and I'm excited to read the rest! Fighting for Life: The Midnight Hour by Laura Michelle: The second installment in Laura's series of poetry, this book is slightly darker than the first, but continues in her beautifully honest tone and her ultimate desire to serve God. There are no actual swear words, however they are heavily implied (in the form of ****) in some places. Scripts to Recovery: The Descent by Don Richardson: This is the second book of poetry Don has published, and the third book he's published through Rivershore. We're working on his fourth now! Don's writing is consistently open and humble, showing clearly the struggles he has been given, from cancer, the death of his best friend, and beyond. Through it all, he returns to the One who helps him through. Warning: This book contains swear words. Random Thoughts of a Stupid Man by Mike Turnbull: As a husband, father, and coach, Mike has gathered several stories over the years. He recounts many of them in this playfully insightful book. Warning: There are a couple swear words and some parts that may not be appropriate for younger readers. Rivershore Books would never publish something we weren't proud to put our name on, but we always want our readers to be aware of possibly objectionable content before they pick up one of our books. That's all for now. This week we're publishing another book (we'll post when it's ready) and we expect to publish at least one more very soon. In the meantime, I'm working on two of my own books (editing Tomatoes Don't Judge and just starting to write a fun series called Coffeehouse Conversations), editing a few from clients, and working on Don Richardson's next book.
