I thought it was time to start a new discussion.
This section is all about character development and we have some fantastic threads to help us develop various characters. It's definitely my favourite section. I love getting to know all my characters and what makes them tick. We become fast friends and they'll always stay in my heart.
But what about that one (or two) character(s) who will always stay with you? Everyone has at least one who haade a lasting impression and is so very dear to their writerly heart.
I have one. Her name is Elly. I've been developing her character for the past three - almost four - years. I recently came across a short piece of work about her and immediately we connected again. That doesn't always happen with my characters, but with Elly I could get lost for hours listening to what she's telling me.
So here is the point of this thread. Who is the character you will always love and want to write about? How did you meet him/her? What is he/she like? What attracts you to that character? This thread is to serve as a discussion board to develop these characters.

Oh this is a cool idea..
I have a few characters who are special. Their names are Kateri and Benedict, or I recently let them have nicknames -Kitty and Benny. Kateri started out as how I saw myself, but she's lost that hold now and is growing up into her own character. She was my first one I created and I don't think I'll ever finish writing her story, because her story will continue every year. She's a friend to me. Benedict was originally created just to provide a love interest for Kitty. But he's not that anymore. His story is richer and bigger than I ever imagined. He's frustrating because he doesn't like tot ell me much about himself, but he knows how to help me keep the story going. (one word: BACON) I made them about 3 years ago now, and I always get excited to write about them. It's taken me a while to find their real personalities but that's part of the fun.

I never had a girl cousin close to my age on my dad's side and none even near my age on my moms so I made up an imaginary cousin when I was younger. His name was Antonio Roy. Ever since I've tried fitting him in some of my stories. I'm still working on his personality, as he has developed from a cocky and fun kid to a caring almost big brother material. He has chocolate eyes, a very set jaw, a mischievous smile, and short curly black hair,. My biggest issue is that sometimes I find it hard seeing him as a cousin as he has grown more into my "ideal future husband" I guess you'd call it. I never permit him to have a love interest in my books, particularly because I feel very protective of him. Sometimes I wonder if there is a person like him roaming this earth and I'm destined to cross paths with him someday and he'll be my real life Roy. But, until then, he breathes in my stories.

One character I've become attached to is a seventeen year old named Michael. When I first started his story a year and a half ago he was an evil side character, but he's progressed a lot. He's the younger brother of the crime lord of New York city, and was raised with crime all around him. He completely hates crimes, guns, drugs, and he especially has an intense fear of knives. He's one of the only people in his family who has never killed anyone. He's really developing a mind of his own, which I've allowed him to do through a journal. I've fallen really in love with him, but unfortunately he dies halfway through the story. That was something that happened when he was still evil, but even since I've turned him good I haven't found a way to save him.
