Beckie and I were discussing the Phantom Stallion books on the introduction thread, so I'm moving our conversation here. So Beckie, Phantom Stallion: Wild Horse Island is another series written by her. It's about Darby from the very last book in the Phantom Stallion series. In the last book, Darby is introduced. She gets a horse at the end, and she takes the wild horse to Hawaii to be trained by her grandpa. It's a very good series, just like the first one, for horse lovers! Sam shows up once and awhile too.

Yeah, of course I love Sam. And her Grandma, and I like her Dad, he reminds me of my grandpa. But I like all of the Ely boys. Okay, so my favorites include all but the Slocums. And Jake's friends.

Jennifer. I like her horse, Silk Stockings, or Silly. He sounds like a spunky horse. Love Ace too!! Though I wouldn't want a horse like Witch. I was on a Phantom Stallion craze a couple of years ago, so I drew a picture of the main horses of Wild Horse Island, and then one of Silly, Ace, Witch, Dark Sunshine and Tempest, and then sent them To Terri Farley. She actually sent me a thank you for them, so I got her autograph!

My favorite books right now are the Lemony Snicket books. I'm on the 8th one, the Something or other Hospital. I just love Snicket's way of writing.

I always wanted to read those books, but I don't think my mom would have approved of them when I was younger.
Has anyone on here read the Spiderwick Chronicles? I read the first 1 or 2 back in 2008, but haven't picked them up since.

I didn't realize this was a sad occasion. The Hostile Hospital was creepy. But then again, all of Snicket's books are somewhat creepy and morbid, and wonderfully so, if that makes any sense. I really must read them again. Also worth reading after the Series of Unfortunate Events are his Unauthorized Autobiography (excellent source of codes and confusion) and his book of hilarious quotes: "Horseradish: Bitter Truths You can't avoid" It is rather brilliant. The world is quiet here.

Loooove Snicket. And I definitely get what you mean... his books are so depressing, yet hilarious, and just wonderful. Such an odd combination...haha, but he makes it work! Another funny book of his is The Latke that Couldn't Stop Screaming... got that for Christmas and read it out loud to my family (it's super short), and when we got to the end we were all like:
